    It usually develops gradually and may cause varying degrees of pain and swelling when you stand or walk, especially  before a change in the weather.

    Stiffness and the loss of flexibility in the knee joints may be experienced especially in the mornings or after any activity.

    Gout:

    Intense knee pain that comes on without any warning usually at night time, accompanied by the redness and swelling of the knee is because of a form or arthritis called Gout.

    The pain stops usually after a period of about five to ten days. The discomfort subsides gradually over one to two weeks, leaving your knee joints apparently normal and pain-free.

    Some self care measures and home remedies do get results in treating knee pain in relatively minor instances. Surgical repair is required in more serious injuries which lead to ruptured ligaments and tendons.

    Measures can be taken to reduce the risk of injury or disease while accepting that it is not possible to prevent every knee problem from happening.

    The prevention of dislocation and other knee injuries can be achieved through the focus on strengthening the muscles that control the knee cap.
